Be Confident in Your Selfies

As many of you know I am a Senior which means that I am working on my Senior Thesis. Scary Stuff...

I have always been very aware of how our world makes people - women specifically - feel about their appearance. I'm not sure why I am so obsessed with insecurities but I am! It's probably because I love natural beauty and I love wearing what I WANT to wear because it makes ME feel good and I want others to have the same confidence. I haven't always been this way and I know the pain of feeling insecure. I have done a body image photo series before (check my albums if you haven't seen it) and it is unfinished. It has still been weighing on my heart all year so I think it's time to start it up again! So here is the reason for this blog...

I AM LOOKING FOR MODELS!

Before you exit out of the page and laugh at the thought of being in front of the camera, HEAR ME OUT! With this series I am wanting to help build your confidence.

Aren't you tired of feeling insecure and hiding some of your "flaws"? I want to remind you that you DON'T have flaws! God created us perfect in His image. We are His princes and princesses so it's time to act like one. We are all different sizes, shapes and colors because God is an amazing artist and He wants to show off His talent in a big art show! The world is His gallery! Why insult God by hiding your beauty? I have insecurities too y'all, but I realized that I'm insulting God's art when I say that I don't find some things about myself attractive (can I get an amen).

With this series I will be doing a few different things:

-I want to hear your story. I want to understand the pain you may have felt or understand the insecurity you have/had so we can overcome it together!

-I will take a few pictures (portraits) before you tell me your story and then some more portraits after we talk about it! You do not have to get too personal, I want you to feel comfortable

-Then I will take some pictures of what you think is your "flaw" but I will capture it in a beautiful and comfortable way! I also want to capture what you love most about yourself! It's okay to admit that you love some of the art that God created! I love my eye color and eyelashes!

With this series I want to show you that everything about you is gorgeous and handsome. I'm so excited to be working on this again! BUT I need models or I can't do it and I'll have to do landscapes... come on y'all. I'm tired of landscapes.

I'm so excited for this project and I can't wait to share our journey with everyone! Wouldn't it be awesome to walk around tall and proud of your body? I think so!

To prove I am not all talk I even did self portraits for this series. If I can do it (someone who hates being in front of the camera) you can too!
